Novel or Memoir?

In answer to some of your questions my book is a novel. That being said, I am a Touretter and did suffer through life misdiagnosed until I was in my thiries. In that sense the book is a memoir. The protagonist's feelings in the book are true to mine in most cases, however, many of incidents throughout the novel never happened. At least they didn't happen as described. Too many people feel that their lives are so remarkably special as to be of great interest to others often infecting their conversations. I don't share that belief. Had I lived the story I wrote I'd most probably be either dead or in prison.
